First notes … on Single Estate CTC tasting

Few of us in US are planning a blind tasting (in checker board style)of high end CTC offerings from Assam estates. I have come to know Ajanta Tea and its highly knowledgeable owner Mr. Bahubali during my visit to India. The quality of teas I have procured from him (30 odd varieties, blacks either branded or from single gardens, oolongs, CTC either mixes or from single estates etc, on multiple occasions), they have always been top notch, fresh, - were carefully packed and have reached to me (last shipment was to USA) safely and in time.
On more than one occasion Mr. Bahubali has served as a friendly guide, he helped me to choose or narrow down my quest for tasting the great teas of Assam and Darjeeling (I cannot thank him enough to have introduced me to the Temi tea from Sikkim).
I have begun to be familiar with the taste profiles of 10 different teas. Satali is one of them.
My first individual tastings are exploratory. 200 mL water, 100 mL milk (4% fat), 3.5 g tea. Bring to a rapid boil, stir, gently simmer for 2 minutes before tasting without sugar or with (1% or 2%).
The stars in ratings above at this time are for initial tasting (how much did I enjoy the cup as compared to a Wagh-Bakri available in US grocery store which I rate at a generous 2 stars)
This tea was very good. With or without sugar. Delicious.
